SF, Thanks for your feedback. I'm happy to hear you connect with my writing. I am quite passionate about this topic and feel it is one of the keys to great leadership and to personal peace and integrity.

Eric, your illustration is wonderful! Transparency has much to do with "walking your talk"! Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful article Susan. Maybe there should be a large mirror in the corner office so one doesn't forget who they are when we get there.

Thanks for the engaging comments!

Sometimes the simplest concepts are the most effective. They can also sometimes prove to be the most challenging to implement. Practice and forgiveness help!

I wholeheartedly agree that it's critical for leaders to know themselves to determine if they're aligned with the values of their organization. The fit of self to culture is often overlooked when the lure of the coveted position or the corner office is presented.

Susan, thanks for this insightful post. Shakespeare was right on. It should be easy to be yourself. However, it will never be easy when a leader's authentic self is not aligned with the corporate culture. It's like wearing a suit that's too small - forced, tight, and really uncomfortable.
